Enter 2024 and the Mercedes-Benz passenger and cargo van has added a new member to the family—the all-electric 2024 eSprinter. With its appealing looks and quiet demeanor, this electric workhorse is sure to please.

2024 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter Specs & Features

eSprinters have been available in Europe since 2019, but their limited ranges made them impractical for the U.S. market. The all-new 2024 eSprinter destined for the U.S. market has been engineered from the wheels up to cover the higher mileage typically needed for cargo and passenger vans here.

The all-new eSprinter shares its body-in-white and interior hardware with the internal combustion engine Sprinter to ensure it offers a similar load space. Estimates say the new eSprinter will offer 488 cubic feet of payload capacity with a max payload of 2,624 lbs.

Get to Work With the 2024 eSprinter

The base eSprinter comes with a rear-wheel drive electric powertrain that produces 134 horsepower. A more powerful 201 horsepower version will also be available. The 113-kWh battery pack sits in the van’s underside between the rear and front axles.

Unofficial estimates put the Mercedes eSprinter range estimate at somewhere between 250 and 300 miles per charge. The more ethically-sourced lithium-iron phosphate battery will go from a 10 percent charge to an 80 percent charge in as little as 42 minutes.

Total charge time for a fully-depleted battery will be over 12 hours when using a conventional 240-volt power outlet.

New eSprinter Interior, Comfort and Convenience

The new eSprinter will start its U.S. journey as a long van with a high roof and 488 cu ft of cargo space (similar to the gas powered version). As with all Mercedes-Benz vehicles, expect more than a fair share of refined interior comfort and convenience features.

Technology, Safety, and Driver Assistance Features

The eSprinter infotainment system with an optional 10.3-inch display will feature the latest Mercedes-Benz software with voice control assistant, that can be operated with a touchscreen, touchpad, or touch-sensitive steering wheel-mounted buttons.

Safety will come standard in the eSprinter all-electric van with a host of standard driver assistance features that include Blind Spot Assist, Active Brake Assist with Cross-Traffic Function, and Crosswind Assist.
